How much is a boiler service?
It's a fixed price for a standard gas boiler, shown on my price list. It includes a flue gas test, safety checks and a written report.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Yes. The call-out charge includes the first hour of work, then there's a half-hourly rate. Before 8am or after 6pm there's a higher out-of-hours rate. Current rates are on my price list.
How quickly can you come out?
I aim to come out the same day across my area, and I'll give you a time when you call. For a leak, turn off your stop tap first and call me.
Which boilers do you work on?
All the common gas boilers, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal and Potterton.
Do you do landlord gas safety certificates?
Yes. I can do the CP12 on its own or together with a boiler service, with a discount for landlords with 3 or more properties. Prices are on my price list. I can arrange access with your tenants. Certificates are emailed the same day.
How often should my boiler be serviced?
Once a year. Most manufacturers need a yearly service to keep the warranty valid, and it's the best way to catch problems before the cold weather arrives.
Does a service include repairs?
A service covers cleaning, safety checks and small adjustments. If I find a fault, I'll explain it and price the repair before doing any more work. Parts are charged separately.
Do you give fixed quotes?
Yes. Common jobs are on my price list. For bigger jobs, such as a new boiler, I'll visit and give you a free fixed written quote. Nothing is done until you've agreed the price.
Do I have to pay VAT?
No. I'm not VAT registered, so the price I quote is the price you pay.
Do I need a power flush with a new boiler?
Not always. Every new boiler I fit includes a chemical system clean and a magnetic filter. If your radiators are badly sludged, I'll recommend a power flush and explain why before you decide.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. My workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months, and new boilers come with the manufacturer's warranty, which I register for you.
How can I pay?
Card, cash or bank transfer. Payment is due when the work is finished, or within 7 days of the invoice date if your quote says so.
